The OWI CARES program allows our employees to give back to our local community and support charitable causes like food drives, cancer walks, blood drives and more.
The OWI CARES team is dedicated to:
Creating a culture of giving
Acting compassionately
Responding with positive impact
Engaging with our communities
Spirit of service
Backpack Drive (August 2023) – At OWI's Northbrook office, OWI Cares hosted a "Build A Backpack" event where we gathered school supplies for James Madison Elementary School. We managed to fill a grand total of 334 backpacks with essential supplies, ensuring that the Pre-K through 8th grade students were geared up for an amazing school year ahead.
Thank You to our DC and Drivers (June 2020) – During the entire COVID-19 pandemic, our DC has been working hard to ensure that orders continue to ship to our customers. As a thank you, we provided snack bags to the truck drivers that came to the DC and lunch to our co-workers at the DC.
Tornado Relief Effort (June 2021) – OWI Cares provided breakfast bags, microfiber towels, and flashlights to the homes in Naperville that were hit by the tornado in June 2021. We teamed up with the Bike Bald Group to deliver these to the homeowners in the subdivisions that are still trying to clean up from the damage.
Other Events – Annual blood drive, packed food for the Northern Illinois Food Bank, Veteran’s Day Raffle to raise money for the VFW, Silent Auction to benefit the Heartland Animal Shelter located behind Old World’s headquarters, collected toys, games, and gift cards for the Ronald McDonald House, collected school supplies for a local school district, and collected toys and gift cards for patients at Lurie’s Children’s Hospital.
