In Top Fuel, number one qualifier Brittany Force advanced to the quarterfinals while John Force had an unfortunate early exit in round one.

Heading into eliminations, Robert Hight kept up his consistency from qualifying to advance past Steven Densham, J.R. Todd, and Ron Capps in route to the finals where he matched up with Matt Hagan.  In a close side-by-side drag race, Hight’s 3.971-second run beat Hagan’s 3.991 to take home the Wally.

Coming into race day having earned her 24th career number one qualifying position, Brittany Force picked up the first-round win over Ron August but in the second round, would come up short to Leah Pruett after both drivers hazed the tires down track.

John Force will remain within 43 points of the Funny Car lead despite his first-round exit at the NHRA Sonoma Nationals to J.R. Todd.

The final of three races on the famed Western Swing will take place at Auto Club Raceway at Pomona July 30th to August 1st.
